Presa y Predador

(structured improvisation, 2009)
Direction: Eun Jung Choi
Performance: Guillermo Ortega Tanus and Eun Jung Choi
(invited artist in Los Talleres: Mijail Rojas)

Duration: 20 minutes
Premiere: Meet the Artists/See the Work @ UArts, nEW Festival, Philadelphia, PA on January 11.

The work explores the roles of prey and predator and the reversed roles between those two in given situations. It is about the question of WHO has actual control over the situation. Prey or Predator? It is a series of movement games which defines their relationship, which often referred as important in maintaining balance between different animal species. Without predators, certain species of prey would drive other species to extinction through competition. Without prey, there would be no predators.
